STAR18RS (NORVECO) HEATER DOES NOT START OR SHOWS ERROR CODE E3!
DEACTIVATE TITLT SWITCH FOR STAR18RS
The tilt protection can be disabled. Please follow the instructions below:
“E3” indicates that the tilt switch is activated.
It is possible to deactivate the tilt switch. We have made it deliberately more challenging to prevent customers from accidentally disabling it. I will explain the steps one by one:
- First, you need to unplug and reconnect the heater. (Have the remote control ready because you only have a few seconds to make the changes after reconnecting.)
- Immediately after reconnecting, when you see the lights circling, you must press the timer button (bottom-right), the thermostat button (bottom-left), and the level button (center) within 2 seconds.
- If you did this part correctly, you should see the letter A or P on the display. This means you succeeded.
- Since the default setting is for the tilt-over switch to be active, you should see the letter A. Now, you can use the + and – buttons to toggle between A and P. To deactivate the tilt switch, set it to P, and then you can turn off the unit using the power button.
When you turn it on again, the tilt switch should be deactivated, and it will remain so unless you repeat the steps to activate it again.
MY HEATER DOES NOT START OR SHOWS ERROR CODE!
THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE FOR V50 or V70 Series with remote control
If the display on the heater shows “ER” when it is connected to the power grid, this may indicate that the electronic tilt switch is activated. Follow these steps to deactivate the tilt switch:
Make sure the heater is positioned so that the LCD screen is facing up or angled up to 90° to the right or left. It must not be facing down.
When you turn on the power to the unit or plug it into an outlet, press “T-” and then immediately “T+”. The display will then show “OF” or “ON” – where “OF” means that the tip-over protection is deactivated and “ON” means it is activated.
Select “OF” to deactivate the electronic tilt switch.
When the tilt switch is deactivated, the heater can operate in all directions and can be mounted on a wall or ceiling.
Note: For safety reasons, the heater cannot be placed on a stand when the tilt switch is deactivated.
The heater now works in all mounting directions and can only be mounted on a wall or ceiling.
NOTE! For safety reasons, the heater cannot be mounted on a stand when the tilt switch is deactivated.
WHERE CAN I FIND OPRANIC PRODUCTS?
Opranic products are sold through wholesalers, retail stores, and e-commerce. In each country, we strive to have a distributor who distributes the products locally to retailers and wholesalers. You can also buy our products directly on our website https://www.opranic.com
CAN I MOUNT IT ON A WOODEN WALL?
Yes, as long as you follow the safety distances specified in the manual that came with the heater. It is also available in our media library.
HOW LONG IS THE POWER CABLE?
The cable length varies from 1.85 to 1.95 meters, depending on the model, and it has a European-type F plug.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE
The purchase includes a heater, manual, screws, 4 mounting brackets, and a remote control for the “R” versions. If you are missing anything in your box, please contact us and we will send out the missing part immediately.
WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED INSTALLATION HEIGHT?
For wall or ceiling mounting, the distance to the floor must be at least 1.8 meters, in accordance with CE regulations. A recommended installation height, for example for a terrace, is 1.8-2.3 meters for power outputs up to 2300 W. The VEGA series requires higher installation heights from 4 meters and up.
CAN I USE AN EXTENSION CORD?
Avoid using an extension cord as it may overheat and pose a fire hazard. If an extension cord is necessary, it must be at least 1.5 mm in size and have a rated current of at least 10 A. Do not connect multiple electrical appliances to the extension cord to prevent overloading.
HOW TO USE
CAN I USE THE SAME REMOTE CONTROL FOR MULTIPLE HEATERS?
Yes, the remote control is the same for all Opranic remote-controlled heaters. If you buy two heaters, you can use the same remote control for both heaters. Just point the remote control at the heater (maximum distance 8-10 meters) and select the desired power.
CAN I ADJUST THE POWER ON THE THERMOSTATIC MODELS?
No, the thermostatic models have no power levels. It has a temperature sensor inside the heater that turns on and off depending on the heating element’s temperature. You can adjust the thermostat so that it turns off/on several times per hour or have it on max for continuous operation.
ARE OPRANIC HEATERS WIND RESISTANT?
Theoretically, you will always have the same level of radiant heat on your skin regardless of the ambient temperature. However, the cooling effect caused by low temperatures and air movements cools the skin and to compensate for this you need to add more energy (heat).
Opranic heaters convert 96% of the energy into radiant heat, so Opranic heaters are very efficient, have the highest wind resistance of all outdoor heaters on the market due to the unique radiation technology which also has a very high absorption level for human skin.
For an insulated indoor room, a 2300W heater is sufficient to heat up 23 square meters. But for an outdoor environment where you have no insulation and the energy is consumed by constant air movements, a 2300W heater covers an area of approximately 13 square meters.
See our images and guides for heat coverage in the sidebar to the right.

IS THERE A STAND FOR THE HEATER?
No, we do not offer a stand for the wall-mounted heaters due to safety regulations. Mounting a wall-mounted heater on a stand may violate legal requirements and pose serious risks. Wall-mounted heaters are designed to be installed on walls and meet specific safety and performance standards for that configuration.
If you need a portable heating solution, we recommend our heaters in the THOR or STAR series. These models are specifically designed to be portable and meet the necessary safety regulations for portable infrared heaters. They provide safe and efficient heating while complying with all necessary standards.
SUPPORT AND WARRANTY
ARE OPRANIC HEATERS WEATHER-RESISTANT AGAINST RUST AND OXIDATION?
Opranic heaters are made to withstand rust and oxidation. Strong direct sunlight, snow, and other weather conditions deteriorate all materials over time, so to keep your heater in good condition, we recommend either installing it under a roof or covering it for an extended period when not in use.
The housing is made of aluminum and will have very little degradation from outdoor use.
The front grille is made of chrome-plated steel and may have some tendency to react to an outdoor climate. However, if you experience that the front grille deteriorates, it is possible to replace the grille. Contact us and we will help you with a replacement front grille.
The side covers are made of special fiberglass-reinforced plastic which has a very high level of protection against all weather influences. But if you have accidentally dropped the heater and the plastic has broken, contact us and we will help you with a new side cover.
WHAT TYPE OF WARRANTY IS THERE ON THE HEATER?
Opranic heaters have a warranty of 2 to 5 years depending on the model.
