Buying guide

Industrial infrared heaters for halls, warehouses and workshops

The Opranic Pro I90 brings radiant heat to the places in a large building where people work: a workstation, a loading area, a seating zone. It is fixed to the wall, the ceiling or a beam, so the floor stays clear for vehicles and equipment.

It suits areas that are occupied for part of the day. Several heaters can serve a larger zone, and each zone is switched on only when heat is needed.

Planning

Heat the working area, not the whole hall

Start with the places where people stand or sit, and plan the heaters around them. Coverage depends on the output, the mounting height, the angle and the building. Send us the dimensions of the building, the ceiling height and the intended use, and we help you plan the number, the position and the output of the heaters.

Running cost
€3.42per hour

The 9000 W version in continuous operation, at an example tariff of €0.38 per kWh. A thermostat or a presence sensor switches a zone off when nobody is there.

What to know before you plan industrial infrared heating

How does an industrial infrared heater work?

It sends radiant heat straight to the people and surfaces within its coverage. In a building with a high ceiling, warm air collects well above the working area. Radiant heat reaches the workstation without first heating the whole volume of air.

How many heaters does a hall or workshop need?

That depends on the output, the mounting height, the angle and the building. As examples: two 5400 W units at 6 m for about 108 m², two 6900 W units at 6 m for about 138 m², or two 9000 W units at 8 m for about 180 m². These are planning values and no guarantee for every building.

At what height is the Pro I90 mounted?

At 3 to 10 m, on a wall, a ceiling, a beam or structural steel. The heater stays horizontal along its length, and the brackets let you tilt it down towards the area that needs heat. Minimum clearances: 300 cm to the floor, 50 cm to the ceiling, 70 cm to walls and 300 cm to combustible materials.

How is the heater controlled?

Through external switching with a suitably rated contactor. A thermostat or a presence sensor can control each zone, so the heat follows temperature or occupancy. The heater has no built-in display, timer or remote control.

Which electrical connection does it need?

A fixed connection by a qualified electrician, with 230 V single-phase or 400 V three-phase supply depending on the rating label and the wiring. The electrician checks the supply, the total load, the cables and the protective devices before installation.

What does an industrial infrared heater cost to run?

At an example tariff of €0.38 per kWh, continuous operation costs €2.05 per hour for the 5400 W version, €2.62 for the 6900 W version and €3.42 for the 9000 W version. Zone control shortens the hours a heater is on. It does not change the power the heater draws while it runs.

Can the Pro I90 be used outdoors?

The aluminium housing is rated IP34. That suits indoor industrial spaces and sheltered outdoor positions such as covered loading bays. The heater is not suitable for wash-down areas.

Service life, spare parts and warranty

The heating tubes last approximately 9,000 hours and can be replaced on site by a qualified electrician. Replacement tubes and brackets are stocked in Sweden. The Pro I90 comes with a three-year warranty on the heater and the heating tubes.
