OPRANIC I90 – VEGA Industrial Infraheater

The Opranic Pro I90 delivers radiant heat to occupied areas in industrial halls, workshops, warehouses and hangars. Available in three outputs up to 9 kW, it is designed for permanent installation on walls, ceilings or structural beams. The mounting brackets allow you to direct the heat towards a workstation, loading area or seating zone.

Heat where people work

In a high-ceilinged building, warm air can accumulate well above the working area. The Pro I90 transfers radiant heat directly to people and surfaces within its coverage, providing warmth without first heating the entire volume of air in the building.

This makes it a practical choice for individual workstations and areas that are occupied intermittently. Several heaters can be arranged to serve larger zones, with external controls switching each zone on only when heat is needed.

Three outputs to suit your installation

Choose 5400 W, 6900 W or 9000 W to suit the mounting height, layout and heating requirement. Each version contains three mediumwave heating tubes and operates at a single fixed output, with on/off control provided externally.

The heating tubes convert over 90% of their electrical input into radiant heat. Reflectors direct that heat towards the occupied area, and the tubes have an approximate service life of 9,000 hours.

Control individual heating zones

The Pro I90 is designed for external switching through a suitably rated contactor. A thermostat or presence sensor can control each zone, allowing the installation to respond to temperature or occupancy. Your electrician can select the controls and switching equipment to suit the number of heaters and the connected load.

There is no built-in display, timer or remote control. Any timed operation or integration with a building management system is provided through the external control system.

Built for fixed installation

The aluminium housing accommodates the heating tubes and reflectors in a single assembly. Wall or ceiling mounting keeps the heater clear of vehicles, equipment and floor-level activity. The unit must remain horizontal along its length; the brackets allow its downward angle to be adjusted towards the area requiring heat.

With an IP34 rating, the Pro I90 is suitable for indoor industrial use and appropriately sheltered outdoor locations, such as covered loading bays. It is not suitable for wash-down areas. Choose the mounting position to suit the conditions on site and follow the installation instructions supplied with the heater.

Planning the heated area

Coverage depends on the selected output, mounting height, angle and site conditions. The examples below provide a starting point for planning. They describe particular layouts and should not be treated as guaranteed coverage for every building.

At the same mounting height and over the same area, the 6900 W version provides more heating capacity than the 5400 W version. For a single 9000 W unit, the two coverage examples correspond to approximately 161 W/m² over 56 m² or 115 W/m² over 78 m². These figures express the installed electrical power per square metre, not a measured irradiance at floor level.

Mounting and electrical connection

The Pro I90 is designed for horizontal mounting at heights of 3 to 10 m. It can be secured to a suitable wall, ceiling, beam or structural steel section. Select the mounting position and fixings for the supporting structure and the weight of the chosen version.

A qualified electrician must carry out the fixed electrical connection in accordance with local regulations and the instructions supplied with the heater. Supply options are 230 V single-phase or 400 V three-phase, subject to the heater’s rating label and wiring configuration. The electrician must check the available supply, total connected load, cable rating, protective devices and external switching equipment before installation.

Running costs

Running cost depends on the selected version, electricity tariff and time spent switched on. At an illustrative tariff of €0.30 per kWh, continuous operation costs €1.62 per hour for the 5400 W version, €2.07 for the 6900 W version and €2.70 for the 9000 W version.

External controls can reduce operating time by switching heaters off when a zone is unoccupied or no longer needs heat. A contactor switches the electrical load; it does not itself reduce the heater’s power consumption while the heater is on.

Project configurations and service

The standard heater has three tubes. One- and two-tube configurations are available on request for projects requiring a different output or heating arrangement. Contact Opranic to discuss the application and installation requirements.

Heating tubes can be replaced on site by a qualified electrician. Replacement tubes and brackets are stocked in Sweden.

Three-year warranty
