Opranic S70R Outdoor Heater with Remote Control

The Opranic S70R is a freestanding outdoor heater from the S70-Line, built for patios that are used often and for long evenings. It combines the IR-X Carbon Black element with a premium reflector in a premium unibody construction of aluminium on a cast-iron base. Five power levels, remote control and a timer set the warmth for the whole evening, in Jet Black or Cloud White.

Test winner in its class

Named best in test by Aftonbladet and awarded by Inspekto in 2022 to 2025, the S70R is the outdoor heater Opranic builds for restaurant patios, hotel courtyards and frequently used residential terraces. The Awards tab lists the tests and reviews.

Full heat in seconds, sent where people sit

The carbon element reaches full output three to five seconds after switching on, with its peak at 2.2 µm. The premium reflector directs the radiant heat towards the seating area rather than into the sky, so the warmth is felt where people sit. The element is rated for up to approximately 12,000 hours.

Set the evening from your seat

Choose one of five power levels from 920 W to 2300 W with the remote control, or use the switch on the tower. The timer switches the heater off after 1 to 9 hours. Actual comfort depends on the distance from the heater, the temperature and wind exposure.

Premium unibody construction, stable on its base

The aluminium body is built as a premium unibody on a cast-iron base of 39 × 26 cm, which gives the 106 cm tower a low centre of gravity. Electronic tip-over protection stops the heating if the tower is knocked over. Assemble the base with the supplied fixing screws before first use and place the heater on a firm, level surface in accordance with the manual.

Where the S70R belongs

Restaurant and café patios, hotel courtyards, covered outdoor dining areas and residential terraces used evening after evening. As a guide, one S70R covers approximately 11 m² in a sheltered area with little wind, based on 200 W/m² at full power. On a larger patio, two towers facing each other give the most even warmth. In a conservatory or on a glazed restaurant terrace, the S70R gives direct warmth for the hours the room is in use, without heating the whole building; see the note on enclosed rooms below. Running cost

At full power the S70R uses 2.3 kWh per hour. At an electricity price of 0.30 €/kWh that is about 0.69 € per hour, and each lower power level costs proportionally less. Infrared warms people and surfaces directly, so the heat is felt as soon as the tower is switched on and there is nothing to preheat.

Moving and covering the heater

Switch off, unplug and allow the heater to cool for 10–15 minutes before moving it. An optional protective cover is available for use when the heater is switched off, unplugged and fully cool.

Five-year warranty

The S70R carries a five-year warranty covering the tower and its electronics under normal use. The heating tube is covered for two years, subject to the warranty terms in the manual.

Use in conservatories and enclosed rooms

Ecodesign Regulation (EU) 2024/1103 sets requirements for electric heaters used in enclosed rooms, including electronic room temperature control with a weekly timer and open-window detection. The Opranic S70R meets the requirements of the regulation for portable radiant heaters. Follow the clearances and instructions in the user manual wherever the heater is used.
