Opranic PRO V70R Patio Heater, Wall and Ceiling Mounted, with Remote Control

The Opranic S50R is a portable patio heater from the S50-Line, with a slim, upright design that fits alongside outdoor furniture. Carry it in one hand to your chosen spot, plug it in and select the heat setting that suits the weather.

Carbon infrared heat within seconds

IR-X Carbon Black™ delivers radiant warmth within seconds. The carbon heating element warms people and surfaces directly, making the S50R well suited to heating a seating area.

Adjust the warmth from your seat

Use the supplied remote control to choose from five heat settings. Select a lower setting on a mild evening or turn up the heat as the temperature falls. Set the timer to switch the heater off automatically after 1–9 hours. You can also operate the heater using the switch on the unit. How warm you feel will depend on your distance from the heater, the air temperature and how exposed the area is to wind.

All-metal unibody construction

The all-metal unibody construction combines an aluminium body, a standard reflector and a cast-iron base. The metal surfaces are durable and easy to clean, with no plastic outer casing. The compact base takes up little space beside furniture. Before first use, attach the base with the supplied screws and place the heater on a firm, level surface as described in the manual.

Choose the right model for your space

Choose the shorter 1800 W model for a smaller seating area, or the taller 2300 W model for a higher maximum heat output. In a sheltered area with little wind, the two models provide indicative coverage of around 9 m² and 11 m² respectively. These estimates are based on 200 W/m² at full power. Colder weather, wind and positioning will affect the warmth you feel.

For balconies, patios and conservatories

The freestanding design makes the S50R a practical balcony heater where wall mounting is inconvenient. On a patio or covered terrace, position it facing the seats you want to warm. As a conservatory heater, it provides direct warmth while you use the room, without heating the whole house. It can also be used on a glazed terrace. See the note on enclosed rooms below.

Running costs

At full power, the 1800 W model uses 1.8 kWh of electricity per hour and the 2300 W model uses 2.3 kWh. At an electricity price of €0.30/kWh, this works out at €0.54 or €0.69 per hour respectively. Lower heat settings reduce electricity use and running costs in proportion to the selected output.

Moving your portable patio heater

Switch off, unplug and allow the heater to cool for 10–15 minutes before moving it. An optional protective cover is available for use when the heater is switched off, unplugged and fully cool.

Two-year warranty

The S50R comes with a two-year warranty covering the heater, electronics, remote control and heating tube. Full terms are set out in the user manual.

Use in conservatories and enclosed rooms

Ecodesign Regulation (EU) 2024/1103 sets requirements for electric heaters used in enclosed rooms, including electronic room temperature control with a weekly timer and open-window detection. The Opranic S50R meets the requirements of the regulation for portable radiant heaters. Follow the clearances and instructions in the user manual wherever the heater is used.
